12:30 PM January Series

The January Series is a free, 10-day event filled with brilliant speakers, fascinating topics, and enlightened conversation. Calvin University invites prominent academics, educators, artists, activists, and others to present thought-provoking lectures in their areas of expertise.

The Coopersville Area District Library is a remote location for this series. It offers a livestream in the Community Room from 12:30-1:30 PM each day.

Today's speaker: Jonathan Eig will discuss his most recent title, “King: A Life,” which earned him the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Biography. He’ll explore Martin Luther King Jr. as a deep thinker, brilliant strategist, and committed leader of one of history’s greatest movements. Jonathan will also explain why King’s demands for justice remain as urgent today as they were in his lifetime.
